October 4–10, 2020, is National 4-H Week. 4-H is the most popular youth organization in the United States. Nationally, a network of over 500,000 volunteers and 3,500 4-H professionals provide caring and supportive mentoring to over 6 million 4-H’ers, helping them grow into true leaders today and in life.

In North Carolina, 4-H Made an Impact in 2019…

  • 261,210 youth participated in 4-H
  • 93,982 youth improved their knowledge of food and agricultural systems
  • 141,371 youth gained valuable STEM knowledge
  • 591,854 face to face contacts with 4-H youth

Here in Haywood County, the Cooperative Extension 4-H Program is Making the Best Better!

  • Over 3600 youth participated in 4-H & Youth programs
  • 370 youth improved their knowledge of food and agricultural systems
  • 55 teachers used 4-H STEM curriculum with 725 youth
  • 6,514 face to face contacts with 4-H youth

How You, Too, Can Support Haywood County 4-H

There are several ways you can help support Haywood County 4-H.

Consider volunteering. This can take many shapes from simply helping with a single activity, to taking on a continuing role as a 4-H Club Leader. Again, call us to find out how.

You can support Haywood County 4-H financially. We are currently working to fully fund an endowment to support Haywood County 4-H programs and we are nearly there. You can easily support Haywood County 4-H right here.
