Join Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and North Carolina Cooperative Extension for this series. Each session is designed for farmers interested in learning more about high tunnels and how they can use these season extension tools to expand their production and markets. Whether you are new to high tunnels or looking to increase your production, these classes are designed to meet your needs with expert guidance from both agricultural professionals and seasoned farmers.

Classes will be held online through Zoom. Classes are free but you will need to register before the classes start. Register for each class individually.

Seminar 1: Getting Started in High Tunnels

We will cover the basics beginning with a discussion of types of high tunnels, purchasing considerations, funding opportunities, site selection, construction tips, and potential markets.

Seminar 2: Season Extension in the Carolinas

This session will cover how to utilize high tunnels for season extension to help maximize space and profits. We will virtually highlight several farms, crops, and production opportunities that exemplify effective season extension.

Seminar 3: Production Planning in High Tunnels

We will discuss crop and variety choices suitable for tunnel productions, planning tools, and effective crop rotations.
