ELIGIBILITY

• Only Haywood County youth may apply
• Haywood County youth who have actively participated in youth livestockprogram (4-H and/or FFA)
• Only undergraduate candidates will be considered
• Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received thescholarship, providing all other requirements/guidelines are fulfilled
• Any approved training beyond high school (technical or 4-year schools) will beconsidered
• Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA average

BASIS OF SELECTION

• Interview (25%)
• Scholastic Attainment and Success (25%)
• Character, Leadership, Current Involvement in 4-H, FFA, Livestock Activities (50%)

ADMINISTRATION

The committee will be composed of the President, Vice-President of the Haywood County Cattlemen’s Association, Haywood Livestock Extension Agent, and two other active Cattlemen Association members appointed by the president. This committee will make selections after interviewing the applicants and studying the applications. This will determine which candidate most closely matches the criteria outlined in the “Eligibility” and “Basis of Selection” sections above: The committee’s decision is final.

Amount of Scholarship- $1,000

• $500 per semester, transcript must be sent to Haywood County Cattlemen’s Association c/o Haywood County Extension Center 589 Raccoon Road, Suite 118 Waynesville, NC 28786
• Monies sent to Finance Office of Technical or 4 year school attending
