The Cruso, Bethel, Canton, and Clyde communities in Haywood County experienced devastation by the floodwaters resulting from Tropical Storm Fred on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Even before the water levels went down residents and volunteers were starting the cleanup process.
N.C. Cooperative Extension and NC State Extension specialists have a number of resources available to help county residents begin the process of recovery safely.
