NC Safe Plates
North Carolina Cooperative Extension offers Safe Plates for all those who work in the food service industry. The course helps food establishments meet the requirement of having at least one supervisor certified as a food protection manager, a mandate of the FDA Food Code.
What Information is covered?
There will be instruction in personal hygiene, purchasing and storage, eliminating cross-contamination, handling allergens, pest control and facility design and correct temperatures for storing, preparing and holding foods.
Who should participate?
North Carolina food service managers seeking Certified Food Safety Manager certification in order to meet the NC Food Code requirement component of the food establishment’s inspection can register for the upcoming class. NC Safe Plates participants who pass the end of course ANSI Exam will receive a certificate required for inspections.
