Empowering Mountain Food Systems (EMFS) has a new grant opportunity for meat processors and dairy producers within Western North Carolina who were impacted by Huricane Helene.
Who's eligible?
Any processor who produces dairy or meat products, whose place of business is within the EMFS service area including Buncombe, Burke, Cleveland, EBCI, Haywood, Jackson, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Rutherford, Swain, Watauga, or YanceyWhat's it for?
Processors who suffered damages directly related to Hurricane Helene
How much?
Up to $5,000 award, to be paid in the form of new supplies, or a direct reimbursement
What's the deadline?
July 8, 2025
What's the catch?
The only requirements are a signed award letter, supply list or reimbursement invoice + purchase receipt, and a 6- & 12-month online survey to be completed after award, sharing information about how these funds helped to restore your operation
