Spend a week at sleepaway camp with Haywood County 4-H! We have three amazing residential camps in our state that are accredited by the American Camp Association with all of the traditional camp opportunities: arts & crafts, canoes, swimming, climbing wall, hiking, campfires, cabins, and camp songs!

We have summer camp options for ages 8-12 (traditional camp) and ages 13-14 (adventure/trekker). Adventure campers do normal camp activities but also do an on-site camping experience. Trekkers do not do normal camp activities and prepare for an overnight canoeing & rock climbing adventure at the end of the week.

Camp cost is $555 ($605 for Trekkers) for 2026 — BUT know that we have funding options:

  1. Active Haywood County 4-H members get a partial to full scholarship!
  2. We will be doing a 31-day calendar fundraiser in December for families to help cover camp fees (and if needed in the spring a Krispy Kreme fundraiser for camp)
  3. NC 4-H has a scholarship program that is income/needs based for families

***If you want to go to camp and have financial issues, we will make sure to do everything we can to get your child to summer camp!***  Camp fees cover a t-shirt and $15 in the camp store.

Our potential weeks right now are (camp runs from Sunday to Friday):

  1. Week of 6/28 to 7/3
  2. Week of 6/21 to 6/26
  3. Week of 7/5 to 7/10

If you are interested in attending summer camp in 2026, have questions or concerns, or just want to talk about all of the options — call/email me at 828-456-3575 or srdixon@ncsu.edu
