In the 4-H Pottery Mini Session 4-H youth ages 10 to 18 will learn about the pottery profession in Western North Carolina. As part of the mini-series youth will learn about hand-coiled pottery techniques, get to build their own hand-coiled pot, visit local pottery galleries, and tour the professional craft and clay programs at Haywood Community College.
The 4-H pottery mini session will be held from 10am through 12 noon daily, with a bag-lunch following. The cost is $10 and includes all materials.
Registration is a three-step process:
1) All youth must be registered in 4-H Online. If you need help creating a family account attached is the family guide to help you get started with the 4-H Online enrollment process. If you are not currently enrolled with a 4-H club, select Haywood 4-H Member-at-Large.
2) Call the Extension Center at 828-456-3575 to register each youth
3) And stop by the Extension Center to pay the $10 fee to secure your spot. Spots are limited and there will most likely be a waiting list.
