Are you interested in sending your child to summer camp in 2023? North Carolina's 4-H Camps and Centers provide high-quality programs that are accredited by the American Camping Association. 4-H Camp is normally more affordable than other traditional camping options with the local support of N.C. Cooperative Extension staff to help with fundraising and transportation.
You do not have to be a member of Haywood County 4-H to attend 4-H camp!
Join us for an information session on Thursday, October 15th from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Haywood Ag Center --- 589 Raccoon Road, Waynesville. Dinner will be provided. Event registration is required.
We will be attending either Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center or the Eastern 4-H Center during the summer of 2023. This is a weeklong sleepaway camp that has activities including horseback riding, canoeing, archery, arts & crafts, swimming, rock wall climbing, and more. Ages 8-12 attend traditional camp and ages 13-14 get to attend Adventure Camp which includes an on-site tent camping experience.
The cost to attend is $550 per child which includes: all meals, lodging, and activities at camp, round-trip transportation, a camp shirt, and $15 of credit in the camp store. Fundraising and scholarship opportunities to help families pay for summer camp. Financial assistance will be available to families who have a significant financial burden.
