The Beekeeping year is beginning to heat up quickly. It is important to stay on top of current trends and information to maximize your beekeeping success. Here are several meetings and events for the month of March that will help you do just that!

March 2021 Events

  • Haywood County Beekeepers meeting will be held on March 2 at 7 p.m. online. The speaker will be Jordan Smith with Two Girls Honey in Bryson City. Jordan is a commercial beekeeper and queen breeder. His topic will be “Preparing for Swarms & Making Splits.”  Join the online Zoom meeting
  • Hive Chats with NC State” is scheduled for March 31. This online webinar will focus on “Swarm Prevention.”
  • Hive Health Inspections are available with Lewis Cauble, N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Bee Inspector, the week of March 29. Please call the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Haywood County Center at 828-456-3575 to get on our inspections list by March 24 so we can plan the inspections schedule.
