Have children ages 5-18 that want to enter a creative project into the Haywood County Fair? Let us help! Space is limited and a parent/guardian must be present during this event. Call the Haywood County Extension office to reserve your spot as soon as possible. Interested folks will need to prepay at the Haywood County Extension Office with exact cash or check by the Friday before the event or your spot will be lost. Checks can be made payable to Haywood CES. Each event is $5 or $20 for all four events.
There will be four events on Tuesday’s from 5:30-7:30 leading up until the fair (1 per week) starting on Tuesday August 29. See list below for details on each event.
Event Schedule:
Tuesday August 29 – Photography Day
We will find photo opportunities around in the Extension office as well as the grounds!
- Please bring a cell phone with a camera and access to the internet and email. Photos will be emailed to Extension staff that day.
- Extension staff will print and mat the photos and take them to the Smoky Mountain Event Center for the Haywood County Fair.
Tuesday September 5 – Tie Dye Shirts
- All materials will be provided for this event.
- It is highly encouraged to wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained. Gloves and aprons will be provided.
- Extension staff will wash and dry final, dyed shirts and deliver them to the Smoky Mountain Event Center for the Haywood County Fair.
Tuesday September 12 – Painting Party
- All materials will be provided for this event.
- It is highly encouraged to wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy. Aprons will be provided.
- Extension staff will deliver paintings to the Smoky Mountain Event Center for the Haywood County Fair.
Tuesday September 19 – Sewn Pillows
- All materials (sewing machines, fabric, thread, etc.) will be provided for this event.
- Extension staff will deliver pillows to the Smoky Mountain Event Center for the Haywood County Fair.
