Livestock dair at night

Information for Exhibits + Livestock Shows

Summer is still around, but fall is in the air and the Haywood County Fair is coming up from September 26th to 29th, 2024! We are excited to see what our community has to showcase this year!

Entry day is coming up and there is NO pre-registration required for general exhibits or the baking contest! Livestock and poultry shows have an online form that is required IN ADVANCE of the fair, as well as entry fees!


Entry Deadlines

Friday, September 13th Online entries & entry fees for LIVESTOCK SHOWS are due (LATE FEES WILL HAPPEN AFTER 9/13)
Tuesday, September 24th from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Exhibits entry intake at the fairgrounds (except for baking competitions)
Saturday, September 28th Baking competitions (youth and adult) entry and contests held at 10:00 a.m.
Monday, September 30th from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Exhibits entry pick up at the fairgrounds

How do I enter the livestock & poultry shows?

All Junior livestock exhibitors must register online by SEPTEMBER 13th, 2024 on the Showman App. To register, go to go.ncsu.edu/2024haywoodlivestockshows. Note parking and exhibitor pass rules when registering. More information about the livestock & poultry shows.

REGISTRATION FEES:

  • Registration fees will be collected at the time of registration online with a credit/debit card. If you need to pay with another form of payment, please contact Kyla-Jo Farmer by email at kyla-jo_farmer@ncsu.edu
  • Special Persons Sheep Show – FREE, Sponsored by Pisgah High School FFA & The McLeod Family
  • Sheep & Goats: $6 per entry, Showmanship is free
  • Poultry: $2 per entry
  • Beef & Dairy Cattle: $10 per entry, Showmanship is free
  • Swine: $6 per entry, Showmanship is free
  • Sheep, Goats and Beef Cattle must be checked in from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27th. Swine and Dairy must be checked in from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th.

Friday, September 27th – Saturday, September 28th Judging: 9/27 — Show: 9/28 – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Poultry Show
Saturday, September 28th 9:00 a.m. Goat Show
Saturday, September 28th 12:00 p.m. Beef Cattle Show
Saturday, September 28th 6:00 p.m. Dairy Show
Saturday, September 28th 30 minutes following conclusion of the dairy show Swine Show

Where to find entry forms and the 2024 fair book?

Online entry forms for livestock & poultry shows are ready for the 2023 fair!

This year’s fair book can be found online (2024 Haywood County Fair Book) or you may come by the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Haywood County Center at 589 Raccoon Road, Waynesville to pick up a printed copy.

If you are entering youth entries, filling out these drop-off tags will make it easier on entry day for you and your family (2024 Youth Drop-Off Tags). Just print off your tags at home and attach them to all of your child(ren)’s entries!
