Collapse ▲The Haywood County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship was set up by the Haywood County Cattlemen’s Association to encourage further study particularly in livestock and/or agriculture sciences but is not limited to an agricultural field of study. It is intended to provide financial assistance in undergraduate school and/or training beyond high school (technical or 4-year schools).
ELIGIBILITY
- Only Haywood County youth may apply
- Haywood County youth who have actively participated in youth livestock program (4-H and/or FFA)
- Only undergraduate candidates will be considered
- Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received the scholarship, providing all other requirements/guidelines are fulfilled
- Any approved training beyond high school (technical or 4-year schools) will be considered
- Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA average
BASIS OF SELECTION
- Interview (25%)
- Scholastic Attainment and Success (25%)
- Character, Leadership, Current Involvement in 4-H, FFA, Livestock Activities (50%)
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP – $1,000
- $500 per semester, transcript must be sent to Haywood County Cattlemen’s Association c/o Haywood County Extension Center 589 Raccoon Road, Suite 118 Waynesville, NC 28786
- Monies sent to Finance Office of Technical or 4 year school attending
PROCEDURE
Provide an official transcript from your high school. Complete and return the 2025 Application by MAY 12th, 2025 to: Haywood County Cattlemen’s Association at the Haywood County Cooperative Extension Center at 589 Raccoon Road, Suite 118 Waynesville, NC 28786
INTERVIEW DATE: MAY 13, 2025 NO EXCEPTIONS, YOU WILL BE CONTACTED AND GIVEN AN INTERVIEW TIME ONCE APPLICATION IS RECEIVED
