Food Preservation Classes

The following Food Preservation Programming will be offered this summer by Haywood Cooperative Extension: Call 828-456-3575 to register or email Julie Sawyer at: julie_sawyer@ncsu.edu. Pickling - This hands-on class will cover the basics of how to safely can pickled products.  No Fee                                                                                                       Wednesday, August 12th, 1:00pm -5:00pm                                           LocationCrabtree United Methodist Church, 5405 Crabtree Rd. Waynesville, NC 28785   Jams & Jellies - This hands on class will work with reduced sugar recipes.         No Fee                                                                                                             Monday, August 17th  5:30-9:00pm                                                      Location: Haywood Extension Center, 589 Raccoon Rd., Waynesville,                   NC  28786 Tomato Products Canning - Water Bath Method -This hands-on class will cover the basics to safely can tomato products.  No Fee                                                     Tuesday, August 18th   9:30am -1pm                                                                             Location: Community Kitchen, 98 Pisgah Dr., Canton, NC  28716 Pressure Canning - This  hands on class will cover the basics of how to safely use a pressure canner for low acid foods.
